Three-Day Workshop Information:

Treat yourself to the joy of three days of watercolor……this is a time to grow in your vision and advance your skills.

This workshop is structured to provide a creative learning experience for the beginning artist – or the experienced painter. The aim of this gathering is to challenge and inspire each artist regardless of their level of experience.

There will be daily demonstrations as well as personalized assistance and evaluation. The creative impulse exists in all of us. I hope to offer you a safe haven– free from judgment – in which you are encouraged to create and helped to achieve the level of skill you desire.

The workshop is three days, costing $375 for three days (Beginner) or $300 for two days (Advanced).

Your workshop fee will include most materials. Good materials are essential to good painting. When you sign up you will be given a list of what is included and what you will need to bring.

DAY 1
Great Beginnings: We will discuss basic materials and techniques. Bring a color wheel if you have one – I will demonstrate color relationships, design strategies, and the mixing and application of washes. We will work from photographs – bring any resource materials you would like to work from or choose from my photo collection. The emphasis will be on technique rather than subject – so you may choose to paint whatever inspires you.

DAY 2
The Positive Aspects of Negative Painting. This is an exciting approach that will give your paintings depth and interest. We will work from a set up as well as my collection of photographs. Feel free to bring any favorite photos that you would like to work from.

DAY 3
Fins, Feathers, and Fur. In this popular session we will explore animal portraiture. You may bring photos of your animals or work from my extensive collection of animal photography. Dogs and cats make wonderful subjects, but so do rabbits, birds, and other small creatures. If you’re feeling really exotic why not try a zebra or an elephant!
